iNaturalist App
iNaturalist is a super cool app that helps you to identify local flora and fauna sitings via photo recognition. The program generates automatic IDs, but also allows for crowd-sourced ID suggestions, all the while contributing to a useful data bank, thanks to you as a “citizen scientist.” This app is created by California Academy of Sciences and National Geographic.
Merlin Bird ID App
This app (created by Cornell University) helps you identify possible matches to the birds you see or hear in your own Backyard. It’s Sound Id offers real-time suggestions for who’s singing, and lets you compare the birdsong and calls in Merlin to confirm what you heard. Check it out!
